Hi, this is my first post on the boards, but I’ve been reading them for a while.
Anyways, I purchased a used English Muff’n and noticed afterwards that the middle screw between the tubes is fully stripped. It looks like a ground screw connecting everything. I’m not sure why; but will this affect the sound at all? I think it sounds pretty good, but I;m not fully sure if it is at its best because of this though. I found I have keep the EQ at lows all down, the mids and highs at Noon or lower to prevent it from sounding tinny or muddy…it may just be my single coil guitar though. Just chacking, and also if and how I should replace that screw. Thank you!
it could affect things. if you’re really concerned, take it to your local hardware store and get a replacement. It’s about a 37c fix.
Thanks, I guess I will look into it. Not sure how I’ll be able to fix it, I’m guessing making a horizontal notch somehow and then using a flat head.
And I just saw I had my EQ settings in the previous post flipped. Highs all the way down, Lows and Mids no more than 12′ cause it just sounds off otherwise.
