Hello,
Does anybody know a method where I can use my V256 Vocoder to get that “fat” analog tone that Daft Punk uses in their song “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”?
I know that I can make myself sound robotic with a synth lead and the gender bender, but I need to imitate that “talkbox” sound.
Thank You.

P.S. – Somebody told me that Daft Punk only used a Vocoder for “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” while certain forums say that they also use a Talkbox. Which is true?
The vocoder alone won’t get you the sound you want, but it’s an essential bit of kit for getting you there. In this instance you’ll probably need a phat beefy distorted synth sound as your carrier input which will superimpose that tone onto your voice and the vocoder should take care of the rest, just key the right notes and with a bit of tweaking you should get it just how you want it.
Hope this helps.
EDIT:
Just found this image of a vocoder made for Kraftwerk in the 70’s. Haven’t we come a long way?

^Mogwai still uses that vocoder
like
they pride themselves on it
as i know they have changed it and now use new, modern machines
you’re full of it, lioberdzenishvili.

first try
as to what tehy used, word on the street is that the speech is a speak and spell that was then vocoded, but talkboxing with the v256 carrier gets pretty close, tho i should add another distortion to the carrier(and learn circular breathing as this needs LOTS of breath lol)
