Good Morning All,
I have a MOOG Little Phatty. This is a great Analog Synth. I run a myriad of pedals along with it. The magic about Electro Harmonix pedals is that they can work in almost any situation. I run the Moog through the Deluxe Memory Man, NYC Muff and now the Bass Big Muff. This gives a great ambient sound with the DMM and the FUZZ I get from the MUFFs is monsterous, especially though an 8×10 Bass Rig. I want Experimentation galore…. that is the beauty of EH. They give you these tools to urge you to create on your own what is your own, sound.
Does anyone here have a silimar rig or some other EH and Keyboards situation? I see a lot of organ players using EH on their console for that extra something that no elese has in their sound.
Old School Casio Keyboards with EH gear can open a new gateway to a sound lexicon…. I run a an old CT 49 Mini Keys through a Big Muff and Small Stone…. the possibilities are endles with Electro Harmonix.

I love a lot of New Wave era bands that use an abundance of synth textures – these are probably my favorites: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25320152&postcount=1
Do you also use the Electro-Harmonix Mini Synthesizer? http://songsandsonics.com/tag/electro-harmonix-mini-synthesizer/
I would love to have one of those

That would be great to have on top of your amp for when you can walk over to it and drop some Analog Blast Frequency Modulated Filtered Assault…. that sound is a reminder of the New Wave Era….. I think of Depeche Mode when dropping those sounds. I have read articles where they mentioned using Big Muff while recording Violator…. The Big Muff NYC is a box for all ages…. No small parts to swallow…. just shards of glass like tone to watch out for.

Those albums are post-New Wave classics, for sure – very influential to NIN and Radiohead.
Any chance that EHX will ever release another keyboard type synth?

ehx should do a reissue of the mini synth. with some added features.
November 11, 2008 at 8:44 pm #87409Dr. MattModeratorWell my keyboard rig currently just consists of a cheapy yamaha sampler keyboard run direct in the PA from the line out, i’ve never thought of experimenting with it much, but you’ve just given me some ideas

As long as you have a line signal, you can plug into any of the EHX Pedals and get a sound that you have never heard before. You can take a cheap keyboard and use that as a source to conjure up some scary sounds. The possibilities are really endless. Take that old FX box you stopped using and try it in a different set up. I personally like the Bass Big Muff these days for keyboards. You can get some off the wall tones and distortion that get your neighbors wondering if you are slaughtering a hippo in your kitchen sink…. think about that sound!

Hi everyone! First post here. Very nice to have a EH forum!
Sure! They should reissue that weird little synth! But maybe with another keyboard ? Something like the Micro Korg at least. I would have bought that immediately.
Personally I use my EH pedals with everything from mandolins to celtic harps and my beloved Korg Poly 800. A cheesy 80’s analog DCO synth either loved or hated for it’s sound and looks. I find that running it through a Small Stone and my new XO Deluxe Memory Man really fattens it up and gives it a very “vintage” sounding quality. I love the vibrato setting on the Memory Man! Perfect for a very authentic string sound. I also sometimes use the Micro Pog with my polysynth for some truly exceptional organ sounds.

I have a Sequential Circuits 6-trak, and the HOG just sounds awesome with it, especially in filter mode with the expression.
