Hi ed2000_8 here i have been the proud owner of numerous ehx pedals for a quite a few years now!… A couple of years ago i tried the small clone nano & small stone nano out and i was not impressed (in retrospect maybe this was due to teething problems!) and felt ehx were going down the wrong route with the nano & xo series but after trying out the holy grail nano, pog 2, micro pog and memory man deluxe xo (after which i purchased the holy grail nano and micro pog) iam now a believer i was wondering if ehx are thinking or will do a xo version of my favorite ehx pedal the electric mistress deluxe (not to be confused with the stereo electric mistress) if not does anyone think this would be a good idea?????????????

July 13, 2010 at 2:44 pm #110183grant2playMemberI would like to see vintage reissues of electric mistress, clone theory and small stone(original CA ota chip). 100% analog and 100% true to vintage specs. I dont see anyone here requesting reissues of modulation effects. Maybe a limited run atleast. I dont think the original ICs are rare as gold or diamond.

July 13, 2010 at 10:16 pm #110190SanquiFlerbMemberthe clone theory has it’s own XO RI.
July 14, 2010 at 12:37 am #110191exodia333Memberyou know what if they do a reissue of the electric mistress I want the original one not the deluxe i mean look at the hartman flanger and then make the pedal cheaper how simple could it get

anyway… i’m not a big fan of XOing when it comes to certain pedals, but i think that with DEM it could work
July 14, 2010 at 7:47 pm #110213forumiruleMemberI would like to find out vintage reissues of electric mistress, clone theory and tiny stone(original CA ota chip). 100% analog and 100% true to vintage specs. I dont see anybody right here requesting reissues of modulation outcomes. Possibly a limited operate atleast. I dont believe the authentic ICs are rare as gold or diamond.
July 15, 2010 at 3:03 am #110231SanquiFlerbMemberthe original ICs are rare. they are. you can’t have vintage spec pedals. The 5 otas used on the SS are as big as a nano enclosure altogether (or at least almost as big). And vintage modulation RIs have been requested here a million times
July 18, 2010 at 12:46 pm #110323ed2000_8MemberI just checked out a couple of demos on youtube of the original vintage clone theory and then the recent xo clone theory and the difference is massive!… The vintage one sounds analog and warmer… i really liked it and then the latest xo one which sounded metalic and digital i didnt like it at all! Im not one of these people that wants to see reissues equally not against it either i just would like to see ehx go back to the drawing board with some of these xo & nano failures (e.g the xo clone theory, nano small stone and the nano small clone!) but i do believe the nano and xo series can work because there has also been success stories (e.g the holy grail nano & pog 2) i just think if ehx are to push and enhance the reputation of the nano & xo series they really do have to go back the drawing board with some of the earlier incarnations!!!!!!!!
July 18, 2010 at 5:56 pm #110324SanquiFlerbMemberFirst off, the clone theory is analog. if it sounds “cold” or “digital”, that’s just the way it sounds. If you want the RI to sound just like the originals, then you need the original ICs and so on. If you don’t care about the pedal’s sound not being equal to the original version then I don’t understand your point. But I have to agree with you: some RI aren’t as good as the originals.
July 18, 2010 at 6:46 pm #110325ed2000_8MemberI am aware that the current clone theory is analog maybe i should have gone into more detail it just sounds metalic and maybe correct me if iam wrong (because iam no expert!) is it digital producing analog chorus & vibrato? My point why i started this topic is because my friend has the previous model of the holy grail (he also being a more experienced guitarist and having more knowledge on effects!) and i have the nano holy grail we tried them out side by side and we agreed there is little difference in sound if anything the nano sound a little better! I just cant understand why ehx cant make all the nano and xo series as good as their predecessors!!!!

Sometimes they upgrade and sometimes to improve they have to downgrade. Look at the deluxe memory man and the memory toy/boy: the memory man uses panasonic chips (a small new old stock batch) while the boy/toy series uses the chinese replica of the panasonicMN series. (Or that’s what I read somewhere arround here). We all want the best quality on the pedals, but sometimes what we’ve got is the best we have.
