Was thinking about purchasing one of these, but i’m very hard on my pedals and a little paranoid that if i do get one, i’m going to be replacing the tubes ALOT. so, my question is…
Is the wiggler very sturdy?
There are some pedal designs that seem like they are built to withstand an apocalypse, or at least a Kurt Cobain style stage frenzy. I think of the old Mutrons, or the old Tel-Ray Morleys, or the old Fuzz Faces for examples.
But I would not place the EHX tube series in that class of sturdy pedal design. The power supply jack, for starters, is a bit fragile and precariously placed, and would probably be the first thing to suffer at the feet of a Neanderthal stage schtick.
But don’t let that stop you from getting a Wiggler. It’s a truly amazing sounding pedal for certain styles, especially those late sixties Fender swampy bluesy tones.
Alright, excellent. I’m a bit of an A’hole when it comes to treating my pedals with the respect they deserve, or at least the ones i use live. I’ve gone through 2 big muffs in the last 2 years.
