I suggest making more people aware about the internal trim pot. I had read a lot of people’s complaints about the noisiness of these units. I decided to go ahead and get one to try and noticed the noise immediately. Luckily someone (I think it might have been Melx) told me about the input gain trim pot and all is good. Why doesn’t EHX make this feature more known? I didn’t even see it in the instruction sheet. Unless the pot was added after the instruction sheets were printed. Anyway, I would at least mention it somewhere on the site. I’m very happy with this pedal now that I’ve gotten it figured out. I think other people would be too.
I agree….and I have to thank ‘MysticBoo’ for letting me know!
I suppose that ehx set it what they think is the optimum level but it seemed way to high to me. I suppose if you wanted to set the comprssion very high and you want a volume boost too you might need all that extra gain to get the volume up, but I certainly don’t.
You’re welcome. :thumb:
I agree, too. If we were all Telecaster-wielding, chicken-pickin’ guitarists, maybe we wouldn’t be complaining.
It really should at least get mentioned in the manual, as the Preacher works really well with other instruments IF the trimpot is adjusted.
Thanks to you both! I was ready to return it, but I’m glad I didn’t.
I agree, the high input gain is useful if you want more of a boost than a straight compressor. However, it was not getting along with some of my guitars until I adjusted it.
