Hi all, this is my first post. I am a big EHX fan and supporter, happy to be here!
Anyone on to my question…
I was very excited to finally have the chance to try out an EHX Soul Food the other night when my friend brought his brand new SF over, but was very confused to find that the pedal had to be on in order for me to get any sound or signal to my amp? I did not use the provided power supply and just had it daisy chained using a Visual Sound One-Spot with the rest of my pedals.
Is this right??
Does the Soul Food really have to be ON at all times to get my dry signal or any sound for that matter? In the demos I have never noticed this to be the case but my buddy assured that’s how he’s been using it also.
It was one of the most powerful and unique OD’s I’ve ever used and I could tell it was acting my amp itself and tubes in a way I’ve never felt before.
Can anyone clear this up for me? If this doesn’t sound right, what could be the issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
There is a switch inside the unit that gives you the choice of using true bypass or buffered bypass, but it should still output a signal when off in either position. Mine works just fine with the One Spot power supply. Sounds like there may be something else wrong with it.
