After a bit of searching I’ve notice that I’m not the only one with this problem… Some EHX pedals, when daisy chained, emit a high-pitched whine even when bypassed. I have three of them with this problem :
– Cathedral Reverb
– Superego
– Pitchfork
I have a lot of pedals with various power needs which make for a total of 5 wall warts (including the 3 EHX needed to eliminate the whine). And another problem is that the EHX wall warts are not very well shielded and have to be from a certain distance of my pedals and cables (fx loop) or otherwise there’s a loud interference buzzing picked up from them.
I was wondering two things : first, do people with an isolated power supply (Voodoo Pedal Power, etc.) have the whine problem too or does it work as fine as with the EHX wall warts?
Second, will there ever be a way to fix the whine? It is kind of a bummer to have to use a single power supply just to feed one pedal that needs 30mA…
Thanks
