Just an idea I thought up the other day. Something like the BYOC kits, just EHX ones. I think that it would be pretty cool.
I like how Monsterpiece does his double pedals. So with EHX kits, you could do something like a Muff and Stone in one enclosure.
That’s a pretty good idea IMO.
There are tons of DIY pedal kits, but none that you can get in stores
EH used to sell build your own muff kits in the 70’s, they where cheaper than the assembled unit.
Yeah, this is a cool idea. Offload some of the manual labor to the consumer letting them learn about electronics in the process while even allowing them to customize their pedals to their liking.
they should totally reissue the old muff fuzz in BYOC style
Imagine stumbling across an unassembled vintage EH Big Muff kit in somebody’s garage sale or something…
Maybe a compromise between building the pedal completely and buying a pre-made one: modular pedals. You get the chassis, which can hold several ‘modules’, which you receive mostly complete, but still requiring a bit of assembly. That way, you can build a custom pedal with a minimum of confusion, but still making it extremely easy to mod.
speaking of modular
having pedals that lock together and have all their connections on the bottom
for super tidy looking boards
Sounds like a cool idea.
