I’d LOVE to see a newer version of the somewhat ill-fated and seriously limited touch keyboard EhX Mini Synth of the early to mid 80’s. Ideally, a module that can also be used for guitar that has 2 VCO’s/2 LFO’s, various waveforms and filters like a ‘real’ synth that also has a detachable small footprint, usable keyboard to utilize it as a fully functional synthesizer ala Micromoog. I’m primarily a guitar player but have been obsessing about analog synth sounds and still can’t bring myself to invest in a full-time keyboard synth.
me too!
can’t say no to synths
Actually, it doesn’t really need to be updated or changed much at all. Except perhaps to use SMT production methods. I bought one when they came out an it was a sweet little unit. Great for bass lines.
The questions to ask, though, are:
1) Is there a big enough market to justify producing something in an entirely different package from all the other current EHX products? (and there is no way that the membrane keyboard could be part of a diecast or folded-steel box).
2) Would the final price-point make it reasonable to sell when one considers the competiton from all the polyphonic sample/wave-table-based full keyboards out there that can be bought for under $200?
My guess is that the answer to both questions is “No”…..darnit!
i would buy one. i play the drums but id love to be able to play funky monophonic synth solos. a new mini synth would be cool. even better would be a clone of the arp pro soloist. i tried to start a thread a few weeks ago and nobody seemed to care. a new mini synth with a few similar presets would be a nice compromise.
