They are both great and somewhat similar. but are they different enough to justify keeping them both?
After 1 day of playing with them, I’m not sure. Anyone else have any insight, opinions?
My initial impressions:
MB–harder to dial in but only cause it is more versatile with more fun and features. Kind of flukey in that it doesn’t make the same sounds twice depending on power source, exp. jack or if it’s warmed up or not. This is both good and bad.
CC-easy to do what you want right off the bat. No noticeable volume drop which I’m getting from the MB currently. Nice deep Edge style delays are easy to get right off the bat w/o too much degradation of signal.
Both self-oscillate like crazy and are good in their own way.
I’m either going to return one and get another $100 or so pedal or keep them both and see if they can work some madness together?
Thanks!

I do this with my DMB and Giga Delay, so I can play Edge type “Streets Have No Name” stuff as well as longer Gilmore style delays in the same song with out having to tweek anything. You can also get some pretty weird syncopated delays happening when you use them both at the same time;)

Let’s say I did ditch one. Trying to think of what I could get for about the same price that would be awesome. So, around $120 to blow on a pedal, maybe a touch more if it’s really super awesome.
Here’s my chain thus far
dunlop wah->boss blues driver->big muff pi NYC->micro metal muff->xo worm->stereo electric mistress->mxr carbon copy->memory boy->boss rc-2 looper
I never thought I’d have this many toys. haha. I should just sell all these and buy a Martin.
Thinking about the zakk wylde overdrive too or a blue box. thoughts?

Ghost–freeze is cool but I feel like you can get pretty close to that with 2 delays anyways
December 27, 2010 at 4:01 am #113327efe_gallagherMemberI’d sell the MXR as brand new and buy something else with the money I’d get. since it’s brand new you could ask for almost the same price as a Store would. If you keep’em both I think I’d try to track you down and jam along! xD
I think we have circa the same number of effects… save I’m a bassistDecember 27, 2010 at 5:06 am #113332octa805MemberI’m keeping ’em both! Just played around for a few hours and they are too fun together. If you dial it in just right, you can pretty much just play one note and walk away. haha.
