Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › EHX Mel9 on acoustic guitars sounding bad
Hi, I just purchased Mel9 for my acoustic sound and it doesn’t play as promised. Tracking is a bit slow, lower notes are fuzzy, etc. I use Martin LX1e and Yamaha A3R, both have similar sound via mel.
Is there any solution to this? Should I put some pedal before Mel on the pedalboard (compressor maybe)?
Thank you
Anyone knows maybe?
It sounds great on my acoustic?
Maybe you dont like the sound of the Mel9?
Does it sound different with an electric guitar to you?
I play my Mel9 with a Taylor/K&K pickup and it sounds nice. I think the Mel9 needs a voltage hit to sound good. If you are finger picking or playing softly the Mel9 may not be getting the voltage spike it needs. The EHX staff may have something to say about this? A compressor could be of benefit.
