I just bought the HOG pedal with a foot switch off of someone but they didn’t have the expression pedal (apparently it broke). The guy mentioned that it would be better to buy another brand in terms of an expression pedal like Boss. Will a non-EHX expression pedal work with the HOG? Is it better to stick with an EHX expression pedal or get another kind? I’m stoked about the pedal, a bit overwhelmed with the amount of sounds I can get out of it! Please let me know.
Thanks,
Paul
The expression pedal that comes with it is a non-EHX expression pedal! 😆
I hear great things about the Moog EP2.
Another option is the DOD-fx17, being very small, cheap on the used market. Disadvantages: you have to get a special cable for it, and it has to be powered (battery or an old school DOD/EHX style 3.5mm” power connector)
Thanks for the response man, I appreciate it! Lol I had no idea, I thought it was an EHX expression pedal (what kind of pedal is it then?)…..looks like there are a few Moog EP2 pedals for $40–does that sound like a decent price? I saw the Boss expression pedal and it’s $100.
Yeah, that’s about the standard going rate for the EP2.
The Boss Expression pedals are humongous from what I hear. I don’t know anyone who uses them.
