I have an EHX Freeze Nano from a friend that unfortunately received 12v instead of 9v at the power input. I’ve had a look at the PCB and there’s nothing obviously scorched or fried but the component near the power input jack labeled ZZ1 seems slight “lumpy” for want of a better description.
If I plug in a 9v supply there’s a suspicious hot smell like I’m making matters worse but that then makes it tricky to test with a multimeter.
Does anyone know what ZZ1 is or have any general tips about where to check for continuity without running any power through it that might hightlight whatever has blown?
Thanks in advance.
