Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › EH The Worm compatible with t-rex fuel tank classic??
Hello,
Does anybody know if it is any way possible to power an Electro Harmonix The Worm (analogue modulator) using a T-rex fuel tank classic power supply.. e.g, is it safe to do so?? and are any special connectors required??
Any help or advice would be much appreciated..
Regards,
Jack.
The Worm requires 24v DC, so you would need to use a “Y” power connector to bridge 2 12V DC jacks together, and unfortunately the Fuel Tank classic only has two 12V jacks and one of them is AC voltage, and you cant mix those voltages! so unfortunately NO! you cant.
Thanks for clearing that up for me!
while the Worm officially requires 24v, some of us prefer running it at 12v. It makes the range sweep more binary, but greatly reduces noise and makes the effect sound slightly fatter. If the T-rex has center positive 12vdc output, it’ll run! Do note that the Worm doesn’t have the same power input jack as other ehx XO pedals, or the standard Boss dc input. it’s a slightly different size. I’m using a high-quality universal adapter.
edit: The more binary sweep of the range only really bothers me when using an expression pedal. In Auto mode however, it sounds fantastic
