Hello all,
I bought a Neo Clone a couple months back, and a couple weeks later bought a 1Spot CS7 power supply for all my pedals. The 1Spot has an 18v output, and I made the mistake of plugging my Neo Clone into that output, and turned it on. The Neo Clone seems to be working ok. How much voltage can these things take? Like I said, it seems to be working, and when I realized I plugged it into the 18v output I immediately pulled it. Hoping I didn’t damage the pedal. I opened it up and it doesn’t smell burnt, so I’m hoping it is ok. Please advise.
Thanks!
There is a diode that can blow when voltage bets to high. If your pedal is working and you smell no burnt parts you are good.
18v is to high so please stick with the 9 volt side!

Yeah no burnt smell. It was accidental, but no damage so all is well.
That’s good. I have an Electro~Harmonix Worm which runs at 24V (!!!) for some reason that has never been made clear. It comes with a special 24V adaptor, and I marked it with yellow fingernail polish because it is notorious for instantly frying 9V effects that it gets plugged into. Some newer effects, like the Fulltone OCD, are actually designed to run at 9V if you plug them into a 9V adapter and run at 18V if you plug them into an 18V adapter. But no 9V/18V pedal that I know of can handle a 24V adapter gracefully.
