Hi-
I’m dumb about pedals, but a year or so ago a friend of mine remarked that her favorite pedal of all time was an EH Fuzz-Wah, so since then I’ve kept an eye out for one on ebay that I might buy as a gift.
But I have never seen one come up–are they that super rare?
Thanks for any insight!
April 6, 2010 at 7:01 pm #109058BrianzeroParticipantHello
This could be the crying tone pedal she is on about, I am not aware of a fuzz wah pedal. but you never know. There are others on here who would probably know. Good luck.
April 6, 2010 at 7:04 pm #109059DiscoFreqParticipantThere are 3 EHX Fuzz Wah pedals:
Electro-Harmonix Fuzz-Wah

But my ebay search is just “fuzz wah” so I should have seen anything remotely similar come up–but nothing.
So can anyone tell me, are these EH Fuzz Wahs exceedingly rare to where I can’t even find one for sale on the whole internet tube highway after a year of looking? Or am I doing it wrong?
Thanks!
April 6, 2010 at 7:17 pm #109061The EH ManModeratorThey’re not as common as the plain wahs.
April 6, 2010 at 7:34 pm #109062DiscoFreqParticipantMy query returned 20 of these in the last 22 months.
The last one was this one:

I guess the answer is the obvious one–if I can’t find it anywhere it is probably not around much.
Anyway, if anyone knows of one for sale, I wouldn’t mind hearing about.
Thanks for the replies, and your cool EH sites in your sigs
EDIT: oh thanks for the ebay link. Apparently I am doing something wrong
EDIT 2: so weird. I search completed auctions for “electro fuzz wah” and that one doesn’t come up even though it has those words in the title.
April 6, 2010 at 7:51 pm #109067DiscoFreqParticipantI make queries that work quite good, the tabs at the bottom of those 3 pages show the results for all 3 models at once.
A lot of people just use my site (the tabs at the bottom of each page or the RSS feeds) to search on eBay instead of eBay itself
April 6, 2010 at 7:53 pm #109068ethicalpaulMemberThank you! I did notice that your search found it in the completed auctions.
Still a mystery to me why “electro fuzz wah” doesn’t find it! grr!
But thanks again, I’ll use your search

May 28, 2010 at 12:13 pm #103468ethicalpaulMemberSorry to dredge up this older post, but I still am on my quest for an EH Fuzz-Wah for my friend.
There is currently a muff-fuzz on ebay so I’m wondering, does anyone know the circuit/sound differences that exist between the muff fuzz and the fuzz-wah (you can see the links to the pedals earlier in the thread thanks to discofreq)?
I can tell from Discofreq’s nice photos that the controls are the same.
Thank you pedal gurus
and PS thank you Fender&EHX4ever;for the demo of the muff fuzz!
October 20, 2010 at 3:02 pm #112045dant471ParticipantI’m new to this site. I wanted to let you know that I have an EH Fuzz Wah that I picked up in 1983-84, and used for a short time, but I’ve had it put away with other stuff that I don’t use since then. I will be digging it out very soon and checking on its overall condition. I’ll let you know what I find out, as I may be interested in selling it. I’m looking at picking up a Teese Picture Wah.

August 10, 2011 at 1:04 pm #102316Yeolefart10MemberI have one of these pedals you are inquiring.I think it is from ’72-’74.I purchased it in 1982.I barely used it back then and hardly use it now as for any gigs or recording I do now,I just play dry.I am starting to check other sounds out though and will go with EH products based on the fact that this pedal is getting up there in years and is still functioning perfectly.Other musicians I have spoken to on the sound shaping subject usually mention EH products as completely reliable and bang on for sound.Have you had any luck finding one?
