Hi, we bought an Electro Harmonix 12AY7 mic pre and the ac adaptor worked intermittently for a while and now it’s just dead. Where can we get a replacement AC adaptor for it? The design of the plug isn’t great, feels very flimsy and easy to snap.
The model is MKA-12 12 volt adaptor and we’re based in London, UK. Checked Digital Village (the local EH dealer) and they don’t have it. Sounded pretty good when it worked, used it for acoustic guitars and vocals.
thanks,
Andy
The correct adapter is the UK12AC-1000
You can buy one on ebay.
Thanks for the link.
Do you (or anyone else) know if I can get hold of this AC adaptor in the UK? I need one for the coming week so it’s not going to arrive in time.
Also now that I look at it I think the problem is one of the two pins (that plug into the mic pre). The smaller pin is very wobbly and it looks like it’s cracked. A freind suggested that I should crack it and then resolder the pin so that it’s solid again. Is that a good idea?
No ideas on where to find one in the UK. You could try fixing it if it’s just a broken connection. It’s AC so the polarity doesn’t matter.
