I’m wondering if it’s possible to add a MIDI input to this unit. Also,I thought I read that EH made a version of this with a guitar input. Could that be added as well? Thanks for any input you all may have. This forum rocks :thumb:

I have one of the units w/ the guitar input. There’s a post about it here: https://www.ehx.com/forums/viewreply/3514/
It had MIDI installed by a previous owner but I’ve disconnected it.
Thanks Ron. Do you know anything about the midi circuit? I’ve searched the net for info, and this is the only thing I’ve found: http://www.synhouse.com/midijack.html I’ve emailed them, and they say it will not work the the EH Mini Synth. I should have saved the email, but I think it had something to do with the way it’s triggered with the resistor network on the keyboard.
How could I add a guitar input? I’ve got a schematic for my EH 0400. Could I copy the circuit that’s in your model and make it work, you think?
Thanks,
Mark
That looks like the exact same module that’s in mine.
I don’t have a schematic for the later unit so I don’t know where the Guitar input taps in.
I checked with Synhouse, the company that makes the Midijack module, again and they told me that they did retrofit 3 or 4 Mini Synths, but it requires adding a VCO to the circuit, and even after that, it’s not real stable. They seemed to enjoy bashing the Mini Synth in the response as well 🙄
I still think it’s a cool piece of history, and makes some phat sounds as well. :thumb:
I’m still on the quest to put a guitar input on mine though.
