December 8, 2009 at 11:44 pm #105012aliensporebombParticipantAs an aside, I’d like to see a MAGIC BOX that allows one to create sounds similar to Bill Ruppert’s effectology experiments in ONE fx unit.
In other words, go from the crystals sound to the orchestral string sound to the led zeppelin electric piano sound.
Those sounds are terrific, evocative, useful. But if you could make it useable in a live situation like kicking in a stompbox that would
be the ultimate. It would be something like a SUPER HOG or MEGA POG. I dunno. Just musing.
OK we’ve gone for faux piano, faux organ and faux dsotm sequencer madness. Thinking:
sax, flute, harpsichord, funky earth wind and fire synth bass?December 9, 2009 at 2:03 am #105041Mr.GrimMemberQuote:As an aside, I’d like to see a MAGIC BOX that allows one to create sounds similar to Bill Ruppert’s effectology experiments in ONE fx unit.It would be something like a SUPER HOG or MEGA POG. hmm…so ….hog-a-pog, or pog-a-hog?….no wait!…..The Phog!
yeah that sounds sweet, not only does the name sound cool, but it still represents what it does, and the name suits it so whel Phog can relate to the sounds it can produce!
December 9, 2009 at 2:12 am #105042Mr.GrimMemberwhat the??…
the last post i did was the first time i used the quote option, how do you make there comment only in the gray and have yours be in black under it?
my comment looks like part of there quote?!
any way here is the comment i made to the above post:

December 9, 2009 at 3:08 am #105047julianModeratoryou just write outside of the (quote) (/quote) stuff
December 9, 2009 at 4:54 am #105049Mr.GrimMemberi could swear i did but it did not work, when i push the quote button, all there text shows up in the box as if i typed it with a header telling where it came from and i tried to type under it and no go.
December 9, 2009 at 11:22 am #105063diegoartsMemberI think didgeridoo is pretty easy. just take an e-bow for a floating tone, then maybe a Doctor Q with a volume pedal in front of it would do the trick.
still easier – flanger hoax in oscillation – fiddle with the delay knobs. sounds pretty good
jazz flute is more interesting really! as for pan flute – eric clapton did a pretty nice mimic of one on creams “what a bringdown” (intro) in just adding a little reverb and upstroke a dampened chord. put for single notes… wow. would be interesting!
hapsichord is a very good idea!!!
December 13, 2009 at 8:48 pm #105291Trae3abMemberYou can get a harpsichord sound with a POG2
Along with a few other keyed instruments with a little gumption.
I would like to say I enjoy the experimental nature of the effectology series.
December 15, 2009 at 5:01 pm #105395LucasKinchMemberyou should call it:
“…Fuck”
as that would be the reply every guitarist will say when they unbox and plug it in…
December 15, 2009 at 7:04 pm #105397CostchParticipantRaising Arizona is probably my favorite comedy.
As far as Effectology suggestions go, I would like to see some Vox Continental Organ sounds, such as “Sister Ray”. Some Ray Manzarek organ stuff would be cool too. (Especially Light My Fire)
January 20, 2010 at 12:31 pm #106626magda790MemberI would like to see a good reproduction of the bass-sound Chris Wolstenholme of Muse has on songs like “Hysteria”, “Time is running out” and “Uprising”. And, while we’re at it, why not try some of Matt Bellamy’s more exotic guitar/synth/effect-sounds?

January 21, 2010 at 4:54 am #106663ynnad94MemberMoog?
Polysynth?
Wurly?
String type synth?
I mean, near anything ia possibleFebruary 3, 2010 at 9:17 pm #107105dreamyguyMemberCHOIR, human choirs!!!!
Put that together with the pipe organ sound made with the POG2, the “cathedralistic” reverb with the Cathedral and fallen angels may rise from hell to heaven… (I’d be the first).
March 2, 2010 at 10:26 am #108094diegoartsMemberAir – La Femme D’argent
All the different Fender Rhodes and Moog Synth sounds and FX!
there’s so much in it! And it’s very 70ies Camel/Kraftwerk-Like.
great stuff in there…
btw – i finally happen to have the HOG and was able to record a little piece of string quartett! amazing realistic! This pedal ROX!!!
hats off!
