My modulation pedals ( Tremolo, echo, chorus) and my distortion pedals (bad monkey, germanium OD) have very different output levels. Do you think loops with a LS-2 or red onion pedal would be a good way to solve this problem?
Which product would you recommend? (Boss LS-2 or onion, ans Which options if the red onion)? Thanks

don’t your dirt pedals have volume controls?
January 22, 2009 at 3:23 pm #91409oolliivviieerrMemberNo Germanium OD don’t have volume control?
January 22, 2009 at 3:30 pm #91410Kevin DemuthMemberof course. you’re right…
on my Germanium OD, the output level is controlled by the interaction between the three controls… if you need the gain up high, can you turn the volts down?
i find that i don’t need the gain up too high for the sounds i want.otherwise, to answer your initial question, a Red Onion TB loop with level control would work as a master volume for the Germ OD (or whatever else you choose to put in the loop).
an LS-2 could work equally well and will give you many more routing options which may or may not prove useful.

i’ve heard some people complain of the LS-2 altering tone, but it’s been several years since i’ve used one – i don’t remember it as a tone sucker myself though.January 22, 2009 at 7:25 pm #91429julianModeratorLS-2 isn’t true bypass if that matters to you
January 22, 2009 at 8:58 pm #91439oolliivviieerrMemberCan you hear the difference?
January 22, 2009 at 10:09 pm #91442julianModeratorI don’t know, I’ve never used one. I probably couldn’t, but some people would claim they could.
January 22, 2009 at 11:14 pm #91450CostchParticipantThe best way to solve this problem would be to keep your tone pure and not use any effects. I would do the same, but I just can’t part with my wah and fuzz quite yet. I’ve kicked the modulation and delay addiction, so that’s a plus.

I could, possibly. I have the shiftiest mind in the world, and it tells me to change my stuff around all of the time, so I don’t even know what to do anymore. As of now, I am only using three (crybaby, big muff, small clone) but it keeps changing.

Those are three amazing pedals.
