    Hi Bill,

Amazing work with the V256. Really enjoyed your videos.

I’m having trouble getting my arms around the hook up for Lucky Man. Did it go like this >>

Dummy TS plug into Big Muff, with it’s output to 1/4 input of V256
Guitar’s TS 1/4″ converted to XLR input on V256
V256 XLR output converted to 1/4 TS > Pitch Detune > etc.

Does the Big Muff really go into the instrument input of the V256 and how should the balanced XLR be wired into a 1/4″ TS or should it be a TRS jack?

    Thanks!

    Rick

    Hi Rick
    Sorry for the confusion.
The dummy plug is only used when you are using the Big Muff as a noise source.

For the Lucky Man solo the set up is as follows:

Guitar into the Big Muff input.
The Big Muff output into a 1/4 to XLR adapter.
That is plugged into the XLR input on the V256.
The output of the V256 into a XLR to 1/4 adapter.
That is plugged into the Poly Chorus input.
Poly Chorus output is then plugged into a Cathedral reverb.

    Hope that helps.

That is pretty straight forward. Thanks for the info. As soon as my right angle xlr jacks arrive I’ll give it a try.

    Hi Bill,
I was wondering actually how you got the sound before Switched on Bach, when the text was being displayed. It sounds so spacey and great.

    Hi Bill!

I, too, was wondering how you got that amazing pad sound before you went into the switched on bach sounds. I would really love to know how to create stuff like that.

Thanks for all of the inspiring videos!

Killer video Bill! Made me pick up a v256 and a PC, I have the portamento setting working well but what settings did you use on the PC for Lucky Man? Thx!

Hi Guys i am sorry for the delayed response!
the Chord pad was done with a HOG in freeze mode that was looped in a Stereo memory Man with Hazarai.
I looped a long section with memory man- modulation on and in play back raised the pitch with delay knob.
    Thats it.

Rick you are right I forgot to shoe the Poly Chorus setting!
Let me see if I have it and get back to you.
I do know it was the chorus mode with a slow sweep.
    Man I LOVE that pedal.

Thanks so much Bill! The PC seems to be the last ingredient. Gonna try to dial in that synth solo in Head East’s “Never been any Reason.” I think that was mini Moog also- I’m sure you probably remember that one!
