I have an old Echoflanger and I’m having problems with a weird popping noise when I step in the footswitch.
Can I change it for a 3dpdt switch? I think the original one is a dpdt.
It also don’t turn the effect on after I change the mode-switch. I need to step in the foot switch 3 times: on/off/on to activate it. Weird…
Unless the switch has been changed, I believe the original is an SPST.
Sounds like you may have a bad solder connection somewhere or a bad footswitch.
Yeah, It’s an SPST.
It looks like this one: http://www.smallbearelec.com/catalog/MomSoftTouch.JPG
But it have two connections on both sides.
There’s only one side of the switch wired.
What about the effect on/off problem? It only turn on the effect when I change the mode knob and then turn it on/off/on. It’s weird because the rate and feedback still works, but to activate the “effect” I need to do this.
You may have some bad solder joints on the mode switch.
The solder joints looks fine.
Can I replace the SPST switch for a 3PDT? I can do it myself but I need to know wich conectors I need to use on the new switch. I can’t find a useful wiring diagram.
Yes but you just need to use 2 lugs on the switch. With the lugs in a horizontal position there are 3 switches arranged in columns.
Is there a schematic I can use to turn it into a true-bypass?
Not that I know of
Ok.
This is the switch: http://www.hotroxuk.com/images/amp_parts/3PDT_true_by_pass_switch.JPG
And this is what I need to know if I can do the same:
Yep, that’s how it’s done.
