I have a small clone (ec 4600) version with mn3007 chip- it does have the textured black part on the enclosure… guy who gave it to me told me that meant it was vintage… not sure… anyways its not working and I’d like to get it working. I have some soldering skills, but dont know much about electronics.
It was brought to me disconnected from switch and jacks so I am trying to hook it up to my breadboard with just wires running off the board. Im thinking maybe I am running into problems with the way I’m hooking it up because of possible non true bypass switching and the wire solder pad for “FOOT SW”
When I hook it up to my breadboard I get a clear bypass tone but no effect whatsoever. Ive found several people have fixed this circuit by replacing the LM358 opamp. But lets start with my hook up- i tried running the footswitch wire to ground and to nothing with no difference (just get a solid bypassed sound)
Do i need to do something else to hook this up to my breadboard properly? ie: LED? footsw wire? etc?
THANKS SO MUCH! Would love to get this pedal working- my favorite chorus pedal ever made! EHX rocks!
another pic
okay… well it works! i just connected the footsw wire to my 9v supply and voila.
now does anyone here have a wiring diagram for these buffered (i’m assuming) bypass ehx effects?
THanks so much!
That’s a reissue. Reissues have the hole in the pcb for the footswitch. Also, all newer EH pedals have a model number starting with EC. vintage units start with EH.
