I run my mel 9 in stereo. That is, the dry out goes to my pedal board and the effect out to the PA. I notice that when the effect is off, dry signal goes to the PA. Is this deliberate? Seems counter-intuitive to me. When I bypass the effect why would I want dry guitar in the PA?

That is the way it is.
I know what you want. The best way is with a simple switcher like the switch blade.
Take the direct out to your pedal board and the mel 9 to the A/B switcher. Leave the Mel9 on all the time and switch it on and off with the a/b switch.
Right now that is the only way to do what you want.

That would definitely work……………I’ll give it some thought…………just to be clear tho the DRY signal goes to pedal board and on to my guitar amp……….the effect(only) goes to PA….there are definitely times I would want both. Right now I am using a stereo volume pedal to control BOTH feeds. an additional volume pedal on the effect out………….for those times I DON’T want dry signal in the PA, seems like a workable solution. As an aside, I will say, With all pedals and Gizmos, I have found that sufficient practice time with full set up is a must.

Thank you for a speedy reply. I am becoming an EHX fan. I also own the HOG with switcher and will integrate it into my system soon!

Yes dry to your effects and amp and effect goes to on/off switcher goes to the PA.
You always will have the guitar on but an on/off for the Mel9
I like your volume pedal as well you can fade the Mel in and out of the mix!

    Hi guys!
So i would like to have the mel9 effect in one chain, with after it looper and other effects, and my dry guutar in the pedalboard line. In order to do this, i should use a line switcher before the Mel, having two separate effect chains, one to the ampli and the other (mel 9 + looper) to the PA?

    Sorry for my english.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi Regor

With a switcher like the Switchblade+ you can have the straight guitar on or effect chain on or both the same time.
is this what you want to do?

I would like to have 2 effect chains from 1 input, my guitar. I guess Switchblade is the right tool for this.
It came to me because at first i did not understand how to use the mel 9 effect output in combination with a line switcher, like you explained above.
