So this question may be dumb but here goes… My band is about to start recording our album. I want to Re-amp my guitar’s signal (for which I’ll need a re-amp box, another story…), but in addition to that, I’ll need something to split my guitar’s signal so that while I’m recording direct into the board, I can also go through my pedals and amp and get my ‘tone’ in the moment I’m playing.
My Micro POG is the first effect in my chain and I noticed that it has a dry out that I don’t even use. Could I use the dry out from the Micro POG and go straight to the board to get my dry, direct guitar signal? Or is the quality of the dry out signal just not up to snuff for this purpose? Is this a horrible idea? Should I spring for a direct box as well to split the signal?
Anybody with re-amping experience please chime in… We have a very nice PT home studio at our disposal but no experience with re-amping and it sounds like an awesome tool.
