Hi, I just bought a drm 16 drum machine. there is a bad noise that looks like an electric pulse that follows the tempo and that merges with the kick.

Thx for helping me.
Likely just a bad capacitor, they’re 40 years old now.
The 2.2uF on pin 6 of the 4093 would be a good suspect.
Ok i try to manage it…thx a lot
I m french sorry for my frenchglish ????
Your English is fine
If you’re in France and want it repaired (once lockdown is over) I’m in the UK and can fix it for you.
I bought this drum machine last week from…uk !
A Guy who repair vintage instr and drum machine says me that the problem could be with the ic OTA EH1048.
Ic 9
IC9 has nothing to do with the tempo or the kick drum… and it wouldn’t be the chip itself or you’d have issues with the hand clap and snare.
I can almost guarantee it’s just a worn out capacitor.
Ok, i ll let my drm 16 to a professional for réparation (more easy for me than send it to il).
Thx a lot for your help … I let you know
I can almost guarantee it’s just a worn out capacitor.
