Home › Forums › Help/Technical Questions › DMB tap tempo switch not responding
Heyo,
New to the Forum but not new to EHX. Never had an issue with them and love them all! I have had a Deluxe Memory Boy With Tap since last December and LOVE IT. I love it so much that I am selling it soon to get the new DMM w/ Tap. But today I was doing some playing and noticed my tap wasn’t responding to what I was tapping. I unplugged the pedal, plugged it back in and that didn’t help. If I take the delay knob and put it all the way clockwise (longest delay time) and then click the tap switch ONCE it goes bonkers and makes its own delay time.
Any idea what could be wrong? If it is a simple solder or something I could fix it pretty easily.
Thanks a lot!
Ryan
There may be a broken solder joint on the switch or it may need a new switch.
Is the ‘going bonkers’ usable musically at all? I mean, having an effect no one else can duplicate easily is pretty cool
When going bonkers it just makes up its own delay time. Its always the same tempo (unless sub-divided) If it was all crazy and random that would be super fun and I would consider keeping for sure! I have some suitable switches lying around from some DIY projects that I might try and throw in there.
Thanks for the help gents
Ryan
