    hey guys, ive got a bmptw and im lookin into a compressor. i was wonderin if they would sound together, compliment eachother. im moreover a soul preacher or white finger. has anybody compaired the two?

    i sold mine got a double muff, love it providing it’s first in the chain it can be used as a preamp or a much brighter fuzz tone than a big muff, coupled with a distorton 3 it’s great. I think the big muff is overatted I like it but I wouldn’t want one again. Hey do you get lots and lots of noise when you turn it on, I did another reason why I sold it.

    i don’t think a compressor is going to help in any way whatsoever…

    an EQ would be more useful in altering the sound, but you may be better off trying a different fuzz/distortion altogether.

    what kind of amp are you using?

    if you like fuzz i recomend the double muff cos its dirt cheap , has a great sound to it and can be be used as a solo boost

    Agreed. Sell the BMPTW, and find a fuzz/dirt box that closer suits your taste.

    my bmtw sounds fanfuckingtstic with a compressor

    i have the white finger compressor and i have it currenty set before the pedal, which smooths it all out, but after it makes it a crazy fuzzy mess but amazing sounds

    and my double muff and englishmuff’n both sound great after the compressor

    Muffs work great with compressors. They can help punch up the clarity of notes in solos or add some crunch to chords. I use an old Boss CS-2 and a Dynacomp with mine. My CS-2 is practically always on when I use a Muff.

    But – if you don’t like the tones you get with the BMTW, a compressor is not going to change that. They don’t alter tone much, just compress what is already there.
