Hi there people
Basically I was messing around with the HOG in a devi ever eye of god feedback loop (it turns the flanger hoax into John Coltrane) trying to see what effect it would have, basically the volume kept increasing and when it peaked the pedal seemed to switch its self off. Now of course, someone who wasn’t a retard would probably have stopped there, but I am that retard, I did it again and the volume peaked, and the pedal died again, only now when I’m trying to use it for regular duties the volume is a whisper, all the octaves and and other functions still appear to be working, but the volume is gone. Literally a whisper non usable.
Just wondering if any techies out there would know what I’ve managed to fry? I’m in england so ideally I’d rather not have to post it out. I know a very capable technician, I just imagine the innards of the hog are complex, if you have any idea as to what has happened it would be greatly appreciated, also if I could get a schematic of what’s inside that would be brilliant, many thanks
Complex digital pedals like this really do call for an EHX employed technician’s attention when they get fried. I should expect the chips in there are expensive and only availible to if not manufactured solely by EHX. I’d send them an email right away.
Also, I wouldn’t cause a digital pedal to self-oscillate by feeding the output back into the input, they generally can’t take it as well as analog gear. Just… you know… a pointer
