Hey
I’m getting one of these pedals for sure but I’m just wondering about the differance between them.
Apart from the color they look the exact same, the only other differance is the price.
I have always found you get what you pay for with gear so this would suggest to me that the circutry is different in some way
My question is would a Deluxe Memory Boy be fine or is the Deluxe Memory Man worth the extra money? (which I would gladly pay if that’s the case)
I’m new to all these gear forums so I apologize if this is a stupid question or has been asked before.
Thanks!
I’m wondering the same thing, but since this post was made in Feb and they’ve still not replied I’d take it there is no difference, although personally I’m not encouraged to buy either if the company won’t even answer it’s own tech support questions, not very reassuring.
Oh yea I’d forgotten I’d made this post! ha
I ended up getting the stereo memory man with hazarai and I have to say it’s a fine pedal even if the manufacturers don’t answer questions
I got this response when I emailed support directly. Hope it helps:
Hello. The main difference is the use of the now discontinued Panasonic chips used for the delays. The Memory Man has them while the Memory boy does not. The Memory Man has a slightly warmer, more analog sound to it hence the higher price. That also gives the Man a longer delay time in most cases.
yup that’s the difference basically, they just sound a bit different because of the analogue delay IC’s used … use your ears to decide if it’s worth the extra money.
… on the other points… The Staff of EHX rarely come here to answer questions, 99% of the admin here (myself included) are just volunteers and are just regular guitar/bass etc players like yourselves, because of this we don’t have the money to buy all EHX effects so we’d probably just own one or the other or not at all, so answering questions like this are often difficult or impossible. This forum should not be mistaken for ‘EHX tech support’ really.. it’s really a forum where EHX users can offer advice and help to each other. If you want to contact EHX best advice is to do so directly.
