the power switch on the back of my memory man has come loose and i can’t turn it on
anymore. i’ve tried adjusted the screws that seem to hold it in place but it’s not working.
can someone give me some advice about fixing this before i either take it apart entirely
or take it somewhere to get fixed?
thanksJuly 1, 2009 at 8:09 pm #98724The EH ManModeratorMore than .likely the switch has gotten bumped and come apart. It only needs to separate slightly to stop working. Here’s what you do:
1) UNPLUG THE POWER CORD!!!
2) remove the back cover and the 2 screws holding the switch.
3) lift out the switch and take a look at it. The bottom is either completely loose or pushed out on one side.
a) completely loose: reassemble the switch and make sure the metal springs that go inside are still there. They may be loose in the pedal. Squeeze the side tabs down and reassemble.
b) pushed out on one side: push back in, squeeze the tabs on the side down, and reassemble.July 1, 2009 at 8:41 pm #98725dudelarMemberok. i got it apart. it seems that that wires to the power switch are disconnected somehow.
i’m having trouble reconnecting the orange plastic piece to the actual plastic power swtich
inside. there are two loose copper pieces that i’m assuming go in the top and bottom slots
on the black power switch. there’s a metal housing for the power switch that the orange
plastic piece should fit it but i can’t get it to fit.
any suggestions?July 1, 2009 at 8:44 pm #98727The EH ManModeratorThe metal pieces fit into the slots on the black plastic piece. You can use some needle nose pliers to open up the side tabs. That makes it easier to slide the orange plastic piece in.
July 1, 2009 at 10:09 pm #98731dudelarMemberthis all make sense except for the fact that the orange piece seems too
big to fit into the metal housing that holds it in place. i see the little
slots where the metal clamps are supposed to go but i can’t get the orange
piece to fit no matter how i try it. is there a trick to it? also, i can see these copper
pieces being useless pretty soon. is there a place to get more in case i
damage them?July 1, 2009 at 10:12 pm #98732The EH ManModeratorQuote:this all make sense except for the fact that the orange piece seems too

As far as I know, there’s no place to buy more of the inserts.
July 1, 2009 at 11:07 pm #98737dudelarMemberok. i think i got it. i had to pry open the metal housing for the
orange piece a bit and then close it around it once it was in there.
it seems to be good. i noticed that when i power it on i can here
a ‘click’ inside and the overload led turns on for a second when it powers on.
i don’t have an amp to test it so i hope that’s normal. i never noticed
before because i wasn’t looking for problems. i think it’s ok.
i was worried that maybe the copper pieces weren’t contacting properly
or i damaged something. i’ll let you know. thanks for your helpJuly 1, 2009 at 11:09 pm #98738The EH ManModeratorQuote:i noticed that when i power it on i can here
