I have a Nova Delay ND-1 which has a very sensitive tap tempo footswitch. I’ve noticed that the Deluxe Memory Boy’s is not as sensitive. For instance if I step on it twice really quickly, the delay time switches appropriately. But if I step on it two more times immediately afterwards, the delay time doesn’t always change as its supposed to. It’s almost like I have to wait a few seconds before inputting a new delay time via the footswitch. Anyone else notice this?
The Deluxe Memory Boy averages the tap entries. It will stop averaging the tap entries after about 2 seconds since the last tap. It also throws out any tap times that are exceedingly long or short compared to the tap average. So if you tap twice at say 400 mS and then wait about a second and tap two more times at say 410 mS, it will average the four taps around 400mS, and throw away the 1 second tap time.
You know, I rather love the tap-tempo on this delay unit because other tap-tempos seem harder to operate. I’ve owned the Boss GigaDelay and still have the Boss Space Echo and the tap tempo on those two were slightly more difficult that the one found on the Mem. Boy Dlx.
Can you tap the tempo while the pedal isn’t engaged?! IMPORTANT, PLEASE REPLY
yes you can reply when it is in true-bypass mode. Also, you can see the tempo flashing. Hope you scored it already, ey!
Thankyou! Its sorted, im getting it. Cheers!
Congrats…you won’t be disappointed, trust me! (even though you don’t know me lol)
Hahaa, i put my memory toy on ebay today to help get the cash.
man…I’m thinking of getting a memory toy, just in case I have a smaller-type gig, where I don’t need a bulky delay…
Do it man! You won’t look back!
