I recently received my Deluxe Memory Boy pedal and I already cannot wait to hook
an expression pedal into it to manually control the feedback.I am now researching expression pedals, and the best ones in terms of quality and durability seem to be
the Ernie Ball VP 250k and 25k.I am unsure if these will work with the DXMB and if so, what is the best one to get?
Passive? Active?
Any other suggestions on good EXP pedals would be helpful.
Lovin’ the DXMB, too.

From the manual:
EXP. PEDAL Jack — Allows the musician to control any of the four available expression modes with an optional expression pedal or control voltage. The expression pedal should have a Tip-Ring-Sleeve plug attached to it. It is important that the expression pedal have the correct polarity. The tip of the plug must be connected to the wiper of the potentiometer inside the expression pedal. If you are not sure what type of expression pedal to use, try to purchase one with a polarity switch so that it will work with many different types of instruments. Some suggested Expression Pedals: M-Audio EX-P, Moog EP-2, Roland EV-5 or Boss FV-500L. You may also connect a control voltage to this jack. The Control Voltage range must be 0 V to 5 V.

I tried using it for delay speed just to see how it gradates the repeat tempo and I found that is essentially went from what I had tapped when the toe was down, and didn’t change until it passed a 3/4 heel down threshold where it suddenly jumped to a really fast repeat rate. The window for a gradual change (which is what I want) is so small that it would be near impossible to use live or in practice. I will be selling the Moog to try another pedal, probably the Roland.
Has anyone else had this experience or a similar one with a different brand expression pedal?
March 29, 2013 at 12:34 am #118875NativeReserveMemberI’m using the Moog expression pedal as well. The only parameter it effects is the delay time. I want to use it for the modulation, but it does nothing. It also does not effect the repeats. I bought my unit new about 1 month ago. As much as I like the basic sound of this delay, advertising an expression pedal that does NOT work with the unit is unsatisfactory. Unless we’re doing something wrong, I’d expect EHX to alter their description. If I buy a new expression pedal and it doesn’t work, I’ll have a major issue with EHX.

Following these, I could solve what I thought was a pedal problem.
