Hi everyone,
I’ve had my Deluxe Memory Boy for about two years now, but I recently noticed that I lose some of the quality of my tone when I use the DMB.
Here’s what I think might be affecting it:
I’m using a One-Spot 9-volt adapter, which works but it is not the original adapter that was 9.7 volts or something like that.
Last year I travelled around the states, and I was a little worried because my pedals may have been exposed to the heat too much.
I may not be using the right setting on the gain knob, I may have too much or too little gain.
I basically just want to use my Deluxe Memory Boy without the tone being affected. I want a pure and clean signal, which I remember the pedal having when I first got it.
Does anyone have any idea of how I could fix this?
Thanks!

Where do you normally have the GAIN knob set?

My 9.6 adapter that came with the DXMB is broken, and I just ordered another one. The DXMB is the only pedal being powered. I normally have the gain knob at 12 o’clock.
I realized that I have a clean signal when the DXMB is turned on, but it has a muddy tone when it’s turned off. Does this have anything to do with Low Cut mode?

Just so I understand correctly, when DXMB is in effect mode, it sounds normal but in bypass it is muddy?

Exactly. I just turned the Blend knob all the way up, and I noticed the delay signal also sounds muddy. The normal signal sounds perfect when effect mode is on though.

If you’re hearing a muddy sound in bypass it could be something internal to the DXMB or external. Do you have anything new after the DXMB? There could be something wrong with the footswitch or maybe a bad cable.
