I recently got a 90’s Deluxe Electric Mistress for 40 bucks on craigslist…(sucker!)
And it sounds really cool, but the attached power cable is annoying.
Does anyone know how to mod it to use a normal 9v plug?
If I have to step up the voltage…I can always build a MAX1044-based voltage double. I just hate having to plug it in somewhere else, instead of using the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power II I have.
There is an amp technician down in Freo that has a specific service to convert any 110volt amplifier to 240volts AC. Well he sells guitars, speakers, amps, valves etc. and does guitar repairs. Also builds his own amps!
But as far as I know he’s the only one I feel comfortable enough to convert my Deluxe Electric Mistress to 9 volts DC (or 18v, whatever it requires), as I am too scared to muck around inside the circuit myself. It’s my favourite effect pedal but the power cord annoys me too, because it runs on a different voltage to the mains power, and I don’t like using the step-down transformer.
