I may be getting my hands on one of these soon, but it needs some work. I’m excited.

EDIT: Received, sent to Howard Davis, repaired and awesome. Best fuzz I own.

I heard that the compressor circuit on the Deluxe Big Muffs was the same as the Soul Preacher’s. Any info on that?

That is true. I have a vintage Soul Preacher and a Deluxe Big Muff Pi, and the compressor on both sound identical. The only difference is that the Dlx BMP does not have a treble boost.

No issues I can think of.

If you’re interested in modding the Blend switch to be a Parallel/Series switch, check out this article: http://hammer.ampage.org/files/Device1-7.PDF

Only problem I’ve had is that all my other fuzz/OD/Distortion pedals don’t get used any more.

You can easily change it to a effect on LED, just true bypass it and swap the Led wiring around a bit, I done it to my micro synth, took about ten minutes.

Could you please help me do this? I have a Dlx BMP and a Micro Synth (and a Q Tron + with the same issue) and would love to change the LED function.

I posted a short how to to fix the LED issue on my QTron.
Turns it into an effect on/off indicator instead of the dumb power on light.

The guts of my Q Tron + looks different. The central hub where the wires go has fewer wires going to it and they are soldered on the sides (there are six points rather than 9). Do I have an older/newer model than the one in your pic?

Could be a 2PDT switch instead of the 3PDT in mine. I heard some of the earlier ones had those and weren’t TB.
Post a pic maybe? At a guess, I bet you could just bang in a 3PDT switch (the 9 pin one) and wire it up like mine. It’d be TB then too, all at a cost of about $5~10.
