Hey guys!
I was looking at the empty space in my pedalboard that has just appeared from my delay being DOA. I went delay shopping, demoed a lot of delays and absolutely loved the tones I was getting with the Memory Man. Not so much with the real estate, power supply, etc. But then, a thought!
Do you think you could make room in your arsenal for a 4-knob Memory Man or a smaller analog delay? I was thinking a smaller XO housing like the #1 Echo, bass big muff, etc. (or even cram it in a nano chassis!) with blend, feedback, depth, and delay. You could call it the Memory Boy! Just the thought of coupling that with a Holy Grail is making me giddy….
They are coming out with one like that. And it is called the Memory Boy.
Great minds, I say! Any idea on a release date/more info?
They’re releasing it next month I believe!! EH hasn’t released any info on it.
All the info we have comes from the screaming bird/mole video EH posted where you can see a prototype in the background, and from the summer price list that dealers recently received from EH.
In the background of the screaming bird/mole video you can see it is XO sized, has 4 knobs and 2 flip-switches.
Dealers have leaked that it will be 99 dollars MAP (minimum advertised price), and that it’s subtitle is “analog delay/chorus/vibrato”
So there you go, that’s all we know right now.
Also, according to a few sources (dealers who’ve talked to EH) there is also a nano sized Memory Toy on the way.
First I’ve heard of Memory Toy. Sounds GREAT!
I’m praying that the Memory Boy will make as happy as my D Memory Man. As I’m about to gift it to someone for their 40th birthday. And will no doubt need to replace it with something at some point.
I assume one switch is to distinguish between delay/vibrato/chorus, but I wonder what the other would do….
Trails On/Off, Overload On/Off (altho I’m guessing this is the feature the Boy will be missing – the drive part), Chorus/Vibrato + On/Off?
no clue
the resolution is so low it’s pretty much impossible to read
Below is the picture of the Memory Boy from the Dolphin UK website. It does not look much better than the picture above. It certainly does not look like an official EHX photo.
…in fact, on comparison, it looks like a copy of the picture above!!
