Hey guys, as my first post on this forum I’d like to ask a simple question: what are your favorite delay pedals? I have 125 bucks and I’m looking to buy a pretty rad delay, I have the Joe Satriani Time Machine in mind, but I was wondering if there are any other pedals that are just as good, and if not better for the money I have. Thanks! :)

    Hi Axis
First off, welcome to the community here, a very mixed bunch with one thing in common, EHX ! Delays? There are so many but my two penny worth would be go get the Memory man with hazerai for the money its just unbeatable. Lots of delay settings, looping and reverse echo, I am still blown away by it. But others here will have different opinions and there own personal favorites. Try a few out before you part with your cash. Good luck

Thank you very much Brian! I was checking out videos of the Memory Man with Hazari and it sounded killer! I think I might save up some more cash and purchase it, the features on it are just incredible.

Yes, the Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai is one of my fav pedals released by any company in the last 20+ years. Highly recommended.

If you want to stay with your budget, the Memory Boy is loads of fun too.

Rad! I’ll have to research that pedal, I’ve heard nothing but good things about it so far.

I agree with SMMwH… But I still love my Deluxe Memory Boy. Expression pedal, and an FX loop. And it’s right around your budget;)

I know it might be too late for giving advice now, but I still own the Time Machine (it’s on the sale now as soon as I find the receipt) The Time Machine is a really good universal delay pedal, it introduced me to delay pedals and the delay instantly became my favourite effect. Out of all delays I tried this one was simple, universal and really good lookin’ ! And I wasn’t even digging Satch that much.

Now I can say, it’s no longer my cup of tea – it’s too Boss-like (not a chance of having your own modulation rate, tone and sound factory preset etc.)…But on the other hand it’s better sounding than Boss, Digitech and others…And I think, because delay is quite a complicated thing to use and get familliar with, it’s good to start with that one – look at me, now I have 2 delay pedals and want 3 of them! Maybe if I had started with Hazarai, I would’ve been unable to dial a “normal” sound and I would never buy a delay again…I was actually realy surprised when I got my first EHX pedal (Cathedral) with how the controls work differently – on Boss pedals you’ve got to put all the knobs at 12 o’clock to get something, EHX has it about 9 :) But now I think it’s great to have that extra space for weird sounds and every time I play through a Boss pedal I get bored – something is missing…

But I would go with Hazarai anyway – it looks and sounds really cool. Just be patient. With Time Machine you’ll be there faster and easier but you can eventually get bored…I think that’s not gonna happen with Haz…
