I’m looking for a solution to get a “wet only” sound out of the new Deep Freeze, using the momentary mode.

From what I can tell, the dry / effect knobs only affect the signal when the effect is engaged. But in momentary mode, where one is constantly reactivating the effect to freeze new chords, this means there is no “100% effect experimentation” (as described in the ad for the pedal) as the dry signal re-intrudes between each freeze.

Is this indeed intentional, or am I misunderstanding something here? Is there some way around this, or a modification that could help?

    Many thanks!

This is the way momentary mode works and there is no way around it. We recommend using Latch mode (green LED). Press the footswitch once so the LED is on. Turn DRY to minimum and EFFECT to whatever level suits your needs. Set SPEED/LAYER to zero and GLISS likely to something close to zero or zero. When you want to start a new freeze, press and release the footswitch once. When you want to stop all freezes and enter bypass, double-tap the footswitch. If you want to have the pedal just mute you could “freeze” nothing, as in play nothing and press the footswitch once. Hope that helps!

Ah, what a shame. What I find I am missing in Latch mode is the nice fade in / fade out of the momentary mode. I can’t achieve the same kind of smooth entrances of frozen material.

I also find myself wondering: what is the situation that momentary mode is conceived for? When would one want a different dry signal level to be engaged only when the freeze effect is engaged? Surely for most uses, the dry output ought to stay constant, when one is applying a momentary effect. Would be curious to know anyone’s thoughts…

    Thanks!
