dude, i always thought of that, getting another pedal and putting it in an ehx box
well i wouldn’t go that far, i would just put it in a plain diecast box or paint it, and give it a better footswitch and knobs
i had daddy o once. awful sounding with those lil knobs i couldn’t even reach properly(
so don’t like ’em much.
just wanted to throw $.02 in about the Dano FAB echo- easily moddable into a complete beast of a delay, and under $20 new.
I got mine modded by this guy: http://stargazerfx.blogspot.com/2010/04/stargazer-fx-modded-fab-echo-2.html
incidentally, the max delay time is now a grainy-swooshy-awesome 6.3 seconds.
I think the cool cat chorus (esp the old 18-volt version) is a gorgeous pedal.
The new/current Cool Cat Chorus is really good too; more chorus pedals should have mix and tone controls.
I really like the TO-1 Transparent Overdrive too.
Yes, more like the same circuit. Steve Rittinger, the current owner of Danelectro was the founder of Foxx so it is probably more original than anything that may carry the Foxx name now. Fun effect.
i have the metal 2 pack and they sound great together. :metal:
now i wish i still had mine
The fab echo is an awesome pedal with a few simple mods. It really gets into the ehx strange zone on some settings.
I bought a Coolcat Fuzz (V2) few months back and the thing is absolutely awesome.
Last week got the Cool cat tremolo… also pretty good.
Not to mention price is ridiculously low!!!
I’m a EHX Freak but there’s definitely a few spots on my board for some Danelectro “dark horses”.
I’m actually thinking of getting the Transparent OD just to complement my tone.
Current signal chain is:
Guitar -> Line buffer -> Vox Wah -> Digitech Whammy -> Danelectro coolcat Tremelo (Danelectro) -> MXR Phase 90 -> MXR Microamp -> Danelectro Coolcat Fuzz V2 -> Ibanez TK-999 -> EHX BMP -> EHX Small Clone -> EHX #1 Echo -> Vox AC-4TVH
