Before I post this I gotta remind everyone I love Electro Harmonix pedals as much as the next person, but there’s something charming about these cheap, retro-looking, hissy, farting, squelching, screaming boxes that I kinda dig. (Lets just forget about the Sitar Swami pedal for anyone who was unfortunate enough to buy one new) Just picked up a Rocky Road Spinning Speaker Simulator (the brown one) Gonna get out the soldering iron in the next week or so to get rid of that nasty volume bomb it drops every time it’s engaged, other than that I think it’s a cool little box for not much dinero. What do you guys think of them?

In the picture is missing the greatest of them…

    hands down… “Reel Echo”

that delay… is really good :-)

I love my Tuna Melt and the Fab Tone distortion. There’s a Mogwai video floating around youtube where he says that the fab tone is his favorite distortion, and they have a Big Muff named after them. He also says they break easily so he just buys a new one whenever he sees one.

The Black Paisley is the most underrated pedal of all time.

I love the tuna melt, that’s some seriously tasty 50’s amp tremolo right there.
Yes! Those Fabtone distortion pedals are so cheap, they’re bullet-proof too, had mine for ages and no complaints so far…

and yes the Reel Echo is super cool, but our guitarist won’t lend me his :P

i’m not surprised… i personally think it’s like the only one really good Danelectro pedal :D
although i heard only good about the Spring King… i’ve never played it

anyway, i tried Daddy-O, Grilled Cheese, Dan-Echo (it was my first delay ever! :) i was so psyched ), FAB flanger and of course Reel Echo (which broke down, sadly :( got my money back and got a second hand boss dd-20…)

i think that their distortions are not very good… as far as the modulation goes, it’s better, but far from good… and the delays – Reel Echo awesome, Dan-Echo not so much – not very variable sound, not very vintage at all :D damn, i played Limp Bizkit with it and it sounded awesome at very random settings

i only own the FREE SPEECH Talk Box and also it’s not really useful live (sadly) for recording it’s amazingly cool! i did a cover of “Welcome To The Machine” from PF once with lotsa “Talkboxing” – pure fun!

I May yet have to try it with seperate Mic instead the insert ones. I read, this works pretty well.
Friend of mine got the Tuna Melt and loves it.

The old danelectro pedals all sounded cool or weird but had bad bypass.

The new danelectro pedals don’t have any problems like bad bypass or volume drops but they are all BLAND.

I loved the French Toast but the volume drop KILLED it. If they’d make a TB French Toast with no volume drop, I’d eat that up.

I’ve gotta agree. The French Toast is way cool. Heard it was a clone of a vintage Foxx Tone Machine?

Gotta love the Foxx Tone Machine too, although I wouldn’t gig with it, it’s covered in some sort of felt. I’ve never noticed any volume drop with my French Toast to be honest, if anything I’ve noticed the opposite, how odd. Classic fuzz pedal though.

Could have been my set-up, but I’d hit it, and suddenly it was like my guitar disappeared. Live that is. It was great for recording.

I have an old Fab Tone. It is a killer pedal. Super high gain, but looks like it should should like a purring kitten. I use it for the rare occasions I play metal.
