This may sound kinda lame, but I would like to see some very small pedal couplers that could smash a line of XO or Nano pedals into as little space as possible. I’m always stuck with 6″ patch cables or the couplers that have too much space inbetween. I’d love for that inbetween space to be 1/2″ or less.
Here’s a trick:
Get 2 flat jacks like these:
Take off the backs of each. Solder the tip conductors together with a little bit of wire and insulate it from ground a bit.
Screw the two plug sides together.
That’s as small as you can get! Just get switchcraft ones and not the imitations (the knockoffs are complete and utter crap and like to fall apart.)
I just do this.
Me too. Though the flat plug thing would save even more space. I haven’t tried it yet. I might make one or two and see how it works.
Actually, such connectors already exist. I own two, in fact.
They’re awesome as long as the jacks you’re connecting are the same height. They are the ultimate space savers, period.

You can find them on eBay, too:

They’re Excel brand (who the heck are they?). You can find them on eBay by searching for “effects pedal connector.” The two I have, I’ve owned for years now. Never failed or caused any problems.
Well, other than the fact that I’m rearranging my board so often that they’re collecting dust right now.
They should figure out how to do one that just eschews the whole middle section.
