This is a great effect. Very versatile in the way you can tweak it to do what you want it to do. The fuzz sound is vintage psychedelic. I like that. Then there is the filters. Great wah wah sounds. The talking filter makes this pedal an absolute must have. I am very happy with the Cock Fight Plus.

Yes. I thought I’d never replace my classic Crybaby, but I think this pedal got everything right. It’s definitely a winner.

Now that I have had more time with this pedal, I am really loving it. A phase shifter or flanger works well with the Cock Fight Plus. In fact it seems to work with just about any combination of effects you can think of. Hats off to EHX!

Have you tested it before and after your OD/Distortion/fuzz? If so, which do you prefer? Can you tell if it “sucks tone” like some Crybabies without a buffer?

When I use a wah pedal ( I have the EHX Wailer Wah, 2 different Cry Babies, and the BBE Ben Wah ) I usually put fuzz and distortions before. There is no right or wrong way. Some put the wah first. It is all about personal taste. With the Cock Fight Plus I like to use ambient effects like phasing, flanging and chorus after. In the talking filter mode these effects give it an added dimension. Since it has a fuzz circuit I don’t think I would use fuzz or distortion in the chain wuth it. Maybe I should try it with a clean boost either before or after to see what that would be like. This pedal has not degraded my tone in any form.

It just occurred to me that I should use the talking filter ( just the filter without the onboard fuzz ) with more intense distortion like my Germanium 4 Big Muff or my Ehxtortion. All right then I’ll do just that and post my thoughts on that as well.
