I was bummed there was no midi options on the Clockworks but figured what the hell, its a faithful reissue and lets not muddy it up with midi etc. I figured it was kind of meant to use with the 8 Step Program and that that would be able to function as a MIDI>Trigger interface…but he 8 Step only has MIDI In and no Clock/Gate/Trigger out!!!! What the hell. Would have been great to sync MIDI clock from MPC/DAW/etc to the 8 Step, then 8 Step syncing the Clockworks…voila you have a MIDI syncable polyrhythmic trigger system with a CV sequencer. Almost like a ARP Sequencer in pedal format.
TBH theres not much use for using these in combinations with EHX pedals which don’t typically have MIDI. OK I should never say that but they are really much more powerful tools in the vintage synth/eurorack realm.

If you are lucky enough to grab a Molten Voltage CV-Sync, it will allow you to sync both the Clockworks and the 8 Step to any MIDI clock source.
