How does the new Deluxe Memory Man (hard steel case) compare with the older ones that were made out of sheet metal.
I’m thinking of trading up from the Memory Boy to the Man after hearing several youtube demos. To me the Memory Man seems easier to control and the modulations (chorus and vibrato) aren’t as pronounced. Of course there is the price difference.
Thoughts?
Has nobody compared the Memory Boy with the Memory Man?? Or compared the two Memory Men (xo vs sheet metal)? I find that hard to believe. Thanks.
Whoops. My bad. I scrolled down and noticed this topic was already being covered. I’ll go there.
Sorry for cluttering up the board.
found this vid on you tube:
I like the way the controls are laid out better on the new DMM more than the old one. The chorus/vibrato knob is supposed to be less prone to breaking (eventually) than the old switch, and I believe its sturdier.
I need the level knob on the DMM for extra control with a loop station. If I just needed a delay by itself or in a chain of effects I don’t know if I’d need more than the Memory Boy, but I’d have to try them side by side to be sure. Then again, I don’t have a single issue with the Memory Man and I plan on relying on it a lot in tandem with a Big Muff and the looper. It’s been nothing but beautiful to work with.
the old one looks waaayyy cooler, and mine sounds awwweeeesome!
