January 20, 2010 at 6:21 pm #106642podpharmerMemberya I was execiting it to be more straight grained like the official ones but i secretly dreamed it would be burled and knotted,
I got my dream amp……..dreams do come true
January 21, 2010 at 8:50 am #106666Mr.GrimMemberYOU BASTARD!!! that is my dream amp as well, …but ill never afford it. 😥 id evan settle for a tolex one.
any way i guess im happy with my Studiomaster Valve Leadmaster.
its basicly a rare clone of a Mesa Boogie Mark 2 c+ from 1981, made in England.
i also have a Mesa Boogie dual rectifier half stack and a Peavey 5150 half stack from when i used to play out, they dont see any light these days, just my Studiomaster.

January 21, 2010 at 1:40 pm #106669firesgt911MemberSweet! I just toured the factory a few weeks ago. It was really cool to see how and where they go together.
January 22, 2010 at 3:02 am #106689BlueSteelParticipantnice! isnt that one like a special/limited edition amp or something? i think i read about it hear or something, but i’m not sure.
January 22, 2010 at 6:47 am #106690podpharmerMemberyes it is, it is mesa’s 40th anniversary so they did a special run of 75, the first are sapele mahogany and the other 55 they made of french flamed walnut, all the woods used were “precious grade” private reserve woods that are extremely rare. you could only get this wood for this run. you just cant order it from the custom shop even if you have the cash
paua abalone and mother of pearl inlay, there is another similar inlay inside it, hand signed by Randal Smith they are sequantialy numbered so it goes 1 of 75, 2 of 75 exc
I was looking at buying a private reserve cab and the guy asked me if i had heard about the limited editions and i said yes but assumed it was thousands more
it ended up being 350 Canadian more………SOLD!!!!!!!!!
they kept the 20 sapele mahogany and 20 of the flamed walnut for the usa, the store actually had two and let me take my pick!! here are only 35 in world outside of the usa an di got to pick from two.
i had bought it at the end of october but i had to wait two monthes before it was build and another half a month for them to get it up from california, the store had two on order and i was the first to pick mine up, i drove 800 km to this store. only certain stores could order them
