I don’t quite understand how some modes work in relation to the delay.

For example, Shimmer and Mod modes, what delay does it use? I was able to get what I want by setting up DMM and then switching to Shimmer, where it seemed to combine.

Am I understanding it correctly, or was it just a coincidence.
