Ok so I feel quite embarrassed about having to make a thread, but after about an hour of tinkering, I just cant figure this out..

I just purchased the Flanger Hoax brand new and was eager to get started. My problem is, is that I cant get any sound out of it. The direct out works fine, but when I try plugging into the direct out or effects out I get nothing. I know its probably something extremely simple, but I just cant figure it out! I consulted the manual, followed the directions precisely, still nothing. All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
