…be used as a standard 4 track recorder? I’m not into looping but I want a simple bedroom track recorder.

I don’t see why not. The problem is after you record a track it loops automatically and I don’t think you can set them for one shots but I guess you could still use it that way. Also there are only two inputs FYI.
not much point….you’d be better off with a digital 8-track really.
I use one of these.
